Teach you how to choose the right wheels for mobile scaffolding

The use of casters is very extensive and is often required in construction projects. Installing casters under the scaffold facilitates the movement of the scaffold, saving a lot of manpower and time. At the same time, steel casters can also withstand large weights, so they can be safely used in scaffold construction. Below, the editor will talk about how to choose the casters for scaffolding. Casters are an important component of mobile scaffolding, and it is precisely because of their existence that mobile scaffolding can move freely; So its quality has a significant impact on scaffolding, so what should be paid attention to when purchasing casters? Today, the editor has summarized some issues that you should pay attention to when purchasing mobile scaffold casters. Let's take a look;

1. Wheel material: This is very important, usually including PU, TPR, PP, rubber, nylon, etc. As for applicable temperature, surface hardness, ground environment, etc.

2. Bracket selection: divided into directional and universal, generally made of carbon steel, can be plated with various electroplating methods such as galvanizing, copper plating, nickel plating, chrome plating, spraying, etc., and stainless steel is also used.

3. Size selection: Generally, the larger the diameter of the casters, the easier it is to push the mobile scaffold, and the better the obstacle resistance. Because casters were first industrialized in the West at the end of the 19th century, casters are generally expressed in inches. For example, most supermarket trolleys in China use 5-inch and 4-inch casters. At present, the popular sizes of casters in the market range from 1 inch to 10 inches, with commonly used sizes including 2 inches, 2.5 inches, 3 inches, 3.5 inches, 4 inches, 5 inches, 6 inches, 8 inches, 10 inches, etc. Generally, for items that need to be pushed, such as supermarket shopping carts, logistics carts, tool carts, etc., 4-6 inch casters are preferred. However, if the diameter of the casters is too large, it will cause the center of gravity of the equipment to rise and increase costs, so a comprehensive consideration is needed. If the equipment does not need to be pushed frequently, such as furniture, refrigerators, etc., and only needs to be moved for hygiene purposes, use wheels under 3 inches.

4. Brake: In terms of functionality, there are brake wheels, brake brackets with universal joints, dual brakes when both brake together, as well as tread brakes, front brakes, side brakes, etc. Please contact the caster factory for details.

5. Installation method: Generally, for medium and light loads, screw rods, plug-in rods, expansion rubber sleeves, etc. can be used. For heavy loads, base plates can be used or directly welded to mobile scaffolding. Generally, large companies have a wide range of installation methods.
The quality of casters will directly affect the use of mobile scaffolding, so when purchasing, it is still necessary to pay attention to the above five points of knowledge in order to purchase suitable casters and make the use of mobile scaffolding more smooth.
